Sometimes I forget that the sheepskin I left Carnegie Mellon with in 1978 says that I'm a civil engineer.  Sure enough, my first assignments were in the field of civil engineering, but since then I have found my true love (other than my wife Jean) to be software engineering.

I have worked for small companies and large companies -- venture capital startups to Fortune 500 giants.  My current focus is developing software for domains ranging from engineering and science to the business enterprise.  I'm currently involved with applications that exploit the latest computing technologies to solve complex problems in distributed computing environments.  I've been an active contributor to the software development community -- authoring a number of technical articles and speaking at local special interest groups.

My avocations include parenting my resourceful daughter, playing piano and serving with the music ministry at church , and building and flying model radio controlled (R/C) model aircraft, and playing piano.
