Professional experience: Over  15 years of experience in information technology and business analysis.  Experienced in software development for a range of industries, including energy, financial and manufacturing enterprises.  Strong communications, analytical and research skills.  Experienced team leader and group facilitator.  Skilled in analysis and design of relational data structures; experienced in a variety of data and process modeling techniques. Wide range of software experience, with emphasis in Microsoft products.

Volunteer experience:  Over 7 years of community service in elementary education including mentoring at-risk students, coordinating reading enrichment programs, and assisting in classrooms in public school systems, as well as serving as an educator, curriculum planner and training instructor in Christian education programs.  Also experienced in literacy tutoring for adults.

  Business Advisor -- NanoSoft Corporation, Houston, TX

Advised on staffing, project design, client development and communications for a 20-person software consulting firm. Wrote promotional material and proposals. Edited technical articles. Consulted on recruiting, selection, and staff development techniques. Recommended project methods and organizations for a broad range of Windows-based software development contracts.  March 1997 - March 2000.

 Software Project Manager -- Pennzoil Company, Houston, TX

Managed information systems design, development and support activities for oil and gas production operations. Developed project specifications, schedules and cost estimates.  Developed policies, standards and procedures for data analysis and design.  Developed training curriculum for rapid application development on client-server platforms, with classes tailored for managers, analysts and programmers.  Specialized in the application of logical and physical data modeling for relational databases on client-server platforms.  Staff of 6 programmers and analysts.  SQL Server, MS Access, and Windows.  September 1992 - February 1997.

  Manager of Financial Data Administration -- Mellon Bank Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA

Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of data and process models to support Mellon's financial and managerial accounting and control systems. Staff of 2 analysts. Served as project leader on key software efforts, including the first central relational database of detailed management performance information. DB2, SQL and COBOL on IBM mainframes and PCs. Developed quality assurance policies and control procedures for the complete software development life cycle.  Designed test routines for UNIX-like operating systems software.  Monitored beta installations.  Supervised testers and testing activities for personal computer software.   Reviewed user documentation for accuracy and clarity of technical content.  Pascal and C on a PERQ operating system. FORTRAN and BASIC on DEC and IBM operating systems.  May 1983 July 1985.
